How to Optimize a Blown Film Printing & Bag Making Line

How to install a film blowing machine?

Proper installation boosts output by 15-20%, avoids die misalignment, and extends equipment life. Follow our field proven 4 stage process.

Base & Platform Mounting

Anchor the machine to a solid foundation.

  • 1st: Fix four legs to concrete base using M20 anchor bolts
  • 2nd: Install short 4 support legs (leveling feet)
  • 3rd: Put the operator platform in place, secure with lock nuts

Traction & Extruder Assembly

Assemble downstream units and prepare alignment.

  • 4th: Install the traction unit (nip rollers & tower)
  • Connect extruder discharge adapter to die head
  • Temporary tighten all coupling bolts for fine tuning

Follow the numbered order: 1st(legs) → 2nd(short legs) → 3rd(platform) → 4th(traction). Correct order prevents structural twist.

Centerline Alignment (Critical)

Precision alignment of die head, extruder, and winder.

  • 5th: Keep extruder – winder center on one line (±1 mm tolerance)
  • 6th: Make sure the center of die head and traction line are perfectly aligned
  • Use laser alignment tool or piano wire method for verification

Electrical & Commissioning

Connect power, cooling, and perform test run.

  • Main power connection (3-phase + grounding check)
  • Cooling water circuit: inlet/outlet pressure test
  • No load test → temperature calibration → air ring & bubble check

Extruder axis, die head center and traction line must be co-linear. Misalignment causes uneven film gauge and bubble instability.

  • Use dial gauge & laser tracker
  • Recheck after thermal expansion (preheat zone)

Installation site checklist

  • Floor flatness ≤ 2mm per meter
  • Load capacity: ≥ 3.5 tons/m²
  • Ceiling height: min 8 m (for bubble tower)
  • 3-phase power: 380V / 50-60Hz, stable voltage
  • Cooling water flow ≥ 60L/min (≤25°C)
